Don’t worry if your baby hates rice cereal or your baby won’t eat rice cereal at all. Imagine you were a baby and you had to put a spoon in your mouth for the first time… This is a foreign object and some babies will take a few times to get used to it, and other babies won’t ever enjoy rice cereal as they may not have a taking to it… Still Rice Cereal is worth the effort and it’s a good smooth transition to solid food and it can also have benefits of making your baby feel fuller and help prolong a babies sleep at night.

For your baby’s first rice cereal feeding, mix one tablespoon of cereal and with around 4-5 tablespoons of formula/breast milk to make the cereal. It’s normal if the rice cereal has a milky texture as this is still your babies first introduction to eating with a spoon so it’s not going to be thick in texture.

So give it a try and hope your baby has a taking to rice cereal to help them starting eating solid foods!
